Launch night was Friday 12th Feb 2016, 6.15pm – 9.30pm, at University Centre Shrewsbury, Frankwell, Shrewsbury SY3 8HQ Launch night

The festival began with a welcome by Shrewsbury’s Town Crier and formal Festival opening by The Mayor of Shrewsbury at the time, Cllr Miles Kenny.

Then, the celebrations continued with presentations from:

Dr Emma Vickers, historian and lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University;Museum

Peter Tatchell, International Human Rights Campaigner, Director of the Peter Tatchell Foundation, talking on Activism and LGBT History

Stuart Milk, International Human Rights Activist, nephew of Harvey Milk and President of the Harvey Milk Foundation

Followed by a Chaired discussion with Jane Traies at the helm.

All events were ticketed.

On their way home we suggested people check out the Market Hall building at the top of Mardol to see a fabulous festival projection from Andy McKeown and Wild Strawberry.
